Between Screen & Web

Death of Kitchen Spider

Between Screen & Web

The kitchen window spider died today

as the coffee pressed through the filter

leaving spent grounds compacted below

Spider’s legs spiraled in on themselves

resembling curled ribbon on gift boxes

at Lord Byron’s late April vigil, or

eight little @ symbols to diapason connections

finally sent

No backspace now, no more load time

only a hollow little frame breaking down

and acting as today’s model for my Instagram

The virtual-empty between glass and screen

a flurry of furry black whispers, legging themselves

to a new home – go kitchen spider, you’re free
