Room 117

Room 117 (Pt. 1)

Flat white oblong key
penetrates metal slit
triggering blinking green POP
as handle turns, angling hard
against a door designed to close

Swift smell of trapped angry air
alienates me from my nostrils
Space dominated by oblong bed
obligatory round table, two chairs
Swishy swoosh landscape framed
between two “golden” wall lamps
