Pushing through June

Lawnmower man! idling
on smoothed parking
lot pavement:

You are a man
with a critical
mission,

pushing a machine
with critical
emissions.

You kill me with aging
celluloid-yellow
eardrum
thugs;

your hearing protectors,
visible fifteen meters
up,

do little
to
nothing
for
me

but
insert
dial
project
ignite
my
imagination.

Yours is a
suppression
game,
Lawn-
mower
Man,

protecting trouser cuffs,
newly bounding puppies,
gods in heavens, and
inflight movies
from the tickling
blade-shaped
towers
of
common

— oh so common —

turf grass! Oh,
slap that
ass,

Mr. Lawn-
Mower
of turf GR
ASS.

Your pistons
fear nothing
but
our oncoming
petroleum-free

so
sigh
E.T.

EEEEE!

CORRECTION, man,

your motor, piston
makers and distributors
fear nothing but our
petrol-free
Future.

They kill me with brand-
ing word misuse and
buttery
vagaries.

So push push push
over the rolling green
turf bush bush bush,

for another hour
another dollar
for another hour
another quarter
for another day
another dime

in your pocket,

Lawnmower Man.

Salute

and

always

dilute.
